FAQs

Who do you work with?

1

Two kinds of people. Folks at or near retirement with $1M or more in investments who want their savings to last and their tax bill to stay reasonable. And high-earning professionals whose pay got complicated, often with stock compensation, who want to hand off the financial weight and stay focused on their careers. What they share is simple. They want a professional in their corner who will push back on their thinking, not just nod along.

You’re a financial planner and a tax advisor. Why does that matter?

2

Most people have an advisor who handles investments and a separate person who does taxes, and the two never talk to each other. That gap costs real money. I hold a CFP® and I'm an Enrolled Agent, so the person planning your money is the same person thinking about the tax bill your money creates. The two are intertwined. I plan them as one picture.

Can you help with my investments?

3

Yes, through my advisory affiliation. Investment advisory services are offered as an investment advisor representative of Secure Path Advisory Group, with securities offered through Cambridge Investment Research. JCS Retirement Tax Advisors handles your tax planning and preparation. In plain terms, I can serve as your investment advisor through Secure Path and Cambridge while doing your tax work under JCS.

How do you charge?

4

Tax preparation is charged up-front before the work begins so that time can be allocated appropriately. Once you select your service model during onboarding, you will pay the fee through the client portal.

For questions regarding asset management fees, please schedule a conversation to talk through services offered.

Do prepare tax returns, or just plan?

5

Both. We prepare the returns and we build the year-round plan the return reflects. That second part is what most advisors skip.

Do I need a certain amount of money to work with you?

6

There's no magic number. The work is most valuable when your situation has real complexity and flexibility. If your finances are very simple, I'll tell you honestly that you may not need someone like me yet.
